Will it clog my pores, and is it okay for oily skin?

No oil suits every skin, but squalane is the lightest oil we make: fast-absorbing, non-greasy and free of fatty acids. If you're oily or breakout-prone, start with 4 drops at night.

How many drops should I use, and how long does a bottle last?

Use 4–6 drops mixed into moisturizer, or about 4 drops on its own. At 4–6 drops morning and night, a 1 fl oz bottle lasts about two months, and around four if you use it once a day.

Can I wear it under makeup?

Yes, it's the oil we'd reach for under makeup. Press in 4–6 drops, give it a minute, and apply makeup over a smooth, silky, non-greasy base.

The creation

Weightless plant squalane: silky, never oily.

Squalane Face Oil is the one for people who think they do not like face oils. It is clear, silky and almost weightless, so light that skin feels moisturised without feeling anything on it. It comes from a plant source, olives, rather than from sharks, and it is close kin to the squalene skin makes for itself.

Because squalane contains no fatty acids, it is exceptionally stable, and it glides with a smooth slip that no heavier oil matches. 4 drops warm between your palms and press in within moments, leaving skin silky, soft and refined rather than shiny. Our label calls it balancing, and that is how it looks: smoother in texture and calmly even.

It is 100% pure, with no added fragrance. Wear it alone, stir a drop into moisturizer, or press it under makeup for a smooth, non-greasy base.

The story behind

Made by hand, in small batches, by a mother and son in Brooklyn

Marianella spent her childhood in her grandmother's kitchen in Venezuela, making soap and beauty products by hand, and she still chooses every ingredient for how it treats skin and the world around it. Squalane used to be taken from shark liver. Ours is plant-derived, made from olives, and it is the lightest, quietest thing we bottle: clear, silky and weightless.

We fill each bottle by hand in our Williamsburg workshop, in batches of 50 to 100, and her son David designed the look. No harsh chemicals, no animal testing, and as little waste as we can manage. It is for people who want hydration they can barely feel.
