The creation
Black lava scrub, then rosewood body oil.
A two-step body routine:
- Hawaiian Black Lava Body Caviar Body Scrub with Charcoal. Sea salt and organic sugar in safflower, coconut, macadamia and Kalahari melon seed oils, with charcoal powder for its deep black colour. Massaged over damp skin, it polishes rough patches and rinses away to leave skin smooth.
- Rosewood and Litsea Cubeba Imperial Jade Body Oil. A silky blend of mongongo, Kalahari melon, marula, grapeseed and argan oils that sinks in fast and leaves a soft glow and a warm, clean scent.
Scrub in the shower, rinse, then smooth on the oil while skin is still damp. The smoky scrub and the bright rosewood oil make a quiet contrast.

How to use
- In the shower, massage the Body Caviar scrub over damp skin.
- Rinse well and pat skin almost dry.
- Smooth the body oil over still-damp skin and let it sink in.
The story behind
Made by hand, in small batches, by a mother and son in Brooklyn
Marianella spent her childhood in her grandmother's kitchen in Venezuela, making soap and beauty products by hand, and her travels brought home memories of black volcanic beaches. Both pieces here are made by hand in our Williamsburg workshop, in batches of 50 to 100.
The Body Caviar scrub is sea salt and organic sugar in safflower, coconut, macadamia and Kalahari melon oils, darkened with charcoal like black lava sand. The Imperial Jade Body Oil follows, with mongongo, Kalahari melon and marula. Scrub, rinse, oil. No harsh chemicals, no animal testing, and as little waste as we can manage.
