Will it clog my pores, and is it okay for oily skin?

No oil suits every skin. Plum is a light-to-medium oil, so if you're oily or breakout-prone, start with 4–6 drops at night, or stir a drop into your moisturizer.

How many drops should I use, and how long does a bottle last?

Use 4–6 drops per application. At 4–6 drops morning and night, a 1 fl oz bottle lasts about two months, and around four if you use it once a day.

Can I wear it under makeup?

Yes. Use 4 drops, let it settle for a minute or two, then apply makeup. Or stir a drop into your moisturizer so it goes on as one step.

The creation

Silky cold-pressed plum kernel oil for a supple glow.

Plum Face Oil starts in the kernel hidden inside the plum stone, the part most people never see. Cold-pressed, it becomes a silky, easy oil, rich in oleic and linoleic acids and natural tocopherols (vitamin E), that glides on like a serum and settles in at a gentle pace.

It is light to medium in weight: more comfort than a dry seed oil, never heavy. Press four to six drops into clean skin and it helps your skin hold moisture, leaving it soft, supple and silky, with a glow that looks lit from within rather than shiny.

Because it is so easy to wear, plum is the oil to reach for if you like to layer. Use it alone as your final step, or stir a drop into your moisturizer. It is 100% pure plum seed oil with no added fragrance, so the only thing you notice is how your skin feels.

How to use

How much 4–6 dropsWhen Morning and night

Cleanse Cleanse and pat dry. Apply toner or serum if you use them.
Warm drops Warm 4–6 drops between your palms until they turn silky.

The story behind

Made by hand, in small batches, by a mother and son in Brooklyn

Marianella spent her childhood in her grandmother's kitchen in Venezuela, making soap and beauty products by hand, where nothing went to waste, not even a fruit stone. Inside every plum stone sits a small kernel, and pressed cold it gives a soft, silky oil.

We bottle it on its own, by hand, in our Williamsburg workshop in batches of 50 to 100, in a bottle designed by her son David. We like oils that do one thing well, and this one does silky: a light-to-medium glide that suits a daily routine. No harsh chemicals, no animal testing, and as little waste as we can manage.
