How to Use the Complete Face Serum Collection, Morning and Night

To use the Complete Face Serum Collection, split the four serums between morning and evening. In the morning, press three or four drops of the Vitamin C Face Serum with Niacinamide into clean skin, follow with four to six drops of The Royal Kalahari Face Serum, and finish with sunscreen. In the evening, press in two to four drops of the Wrinkle Reducing Ultra Peptide Intensive Face Serum, give it a minute, then press in four to six drops of The Midnight Youth Potion as your last step.

That is the whole routine. The rest of this guide covers the details: how to apply each one, why the order runs the way it does, and the one or two rules worth remembering.

Start with clean skin

Every serum in the collection goes onto freshly cleansed skin. Wash with a gentle cleanser such as our Rose Face Wash Cream, rinse, and pat your face with a towel. You do not need to wait until your skin feels tight. The oils in particular work well on skin that is still slightly damp, because they help hold in the water that is already there.

The morning order

  1. Vitamin C serum. Press three or four drops of the Vitamin C Collagen Boosting Face Serum with Niacinamide into clean skin. It is light and fast-absorbing, so it goes first. Wait a moment for it to sink in.
  2. Royal Kalahari Face Serum. Warm four to six drops of The Royal Kalahari Face Serum between your fingertips and press them into face and neck. It sinks in without a greasy feel, so makeup can follow.
  3. Sunscreen. Finish with your daytime sunscreen.

The evening order

  1. Peptide serum. Press two to four drops of the Wrinkle Reducing Ultra Peptide Intensive Face Serum into clean skin and let it sink in. Give it about a minute before the next layer.
  2. Royal Kalahari, if you like. The collection says Royal Kalahari works at either end of the day. If you want it at night too, press it in now, after the peptide serum.
  3. The Midnight Youth Potion. Warm four to six drops of The Midnight Youth Potion between your palms and press them into skin as the last step of the evening.

Why the order runs thinnest to richest

The order follows texture. Water-light serums go on first, oils go on after them. The vitamin C serum and the peptide serum are both light and quick to absorb, and they carry the focused ingredients: vitamin C and niacinamide in the morning, three peptides at night. The Royal Kalahari Face Serum and The Midnight Youth Potion are oils. Put on last, they settle over the lighter layers and help skin hold moisture through the day or the night.

If you reverse the order and press an oil in first, the watery serum that follows has a harder time reaching your skin. Keep the oils at the end and each layer does its part.

How to apply each serum

  • Press rather than rub. Put the drops on your fingertips or palms and press them into your cheeks, forehead, nose and chin, working from the center of the face outward. Pressing spreads a serum evenly without dragging the skin.
  • Warm the oils. A few seconds between your palms softens the Royal Kalahari serum and the Midnight Youth Potion so they spread more easily.
  • Include the neck. The Royal Kalahari page says face and neck. Carry the last of each layer down past the jaw.
  • Start at the low end. Use the smaller number of drops for the first week and add one only if your skin still feels like it wants more.

Two rules worth remembering

Retinol nights. If you use retinol, skip the peptide serum that night and go back to it the next evening. Keep the vitamin C serum out of any routine that includes retinol or benzoyl peroxide.

Sunscreen every morning. The vitamin C serum is made to be worn in the morning with sunscreen. The serum helps skin look brighter. Sunscreen is what protects it during the day.

Results from serums like these build with regular use, so the routine works best when it becomes a habit rather than an occasional extra. The Royal Kalahari serum, for example, leaves skin softer at once and, with daily use, looking smoother, brighter and more even.

Questions about using the four serums

Can I use the vitamin C serum at night instead?

Yes. Its product page says to use it in the morning with sunscreen or in the evening. If you move it to the evening, put it on first and leave the peptide serum for another night.

How long should I wait between the peptide serum and the oil?

About a minute. That gives the peptide serum time to absorb before the Midnight Youth Potion goes on over it.

Do I need a moisturizer on top?

The two oils do the job of the final layer, and many people find that is enough. If you want a rich cream at night, our Wrinkle Reducing Ultra Peptide Intensive Night Cream goes on last, over the serums.

Can I use the Midnight Youth Potion in the morning?

It is made for the evening, as the last step before bed. In the morning, the lighter Royal Kalahari Face Serum is the oil to reach for.
