Is it for acne?

No, it is not made for acne. Tea tree gives it a fresh, clean feel and the gel is light enough for breakout-prone skin to try, but it is a hydrating step. Patch test first, since tea tree can bother some skin.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

It was made for normal, dry and sensitive skin. Tea tree oil and shea can still irritate some people, so patch test on your inner arm for 24 hours and stop if skin feels uncomfortable.

Where does it go with serums and oils?

Directly after toner. Detox Gel, then the Royal Kalahari Face Serum or another oil, then moisturizer. The gel is water-based, so it goes under oils.

The first touch is cool. Detox Gel is a light, clear aloe gel that melts into skin in seconds and leaves it feeling fresh, soft and lightly hydrated, never tacky or heavy.

It does a particular job. It sits between toning and moisturizing, so serums, oils and makeup that come after it glide on more easily. Aloe provides the weightless water-binding hydration, shea adds a touch of cushion so skin does not feel dry or stripped, and tea tree oil gives the whole jar a crisp, herbal, clean scent.

Smooth a thin layer over face and neck after cleansing, in the morning and at night. Skin feels clean, soft and refreshed, and looks calm and comfortable. Marianella spent her childhood in her grandmother's kitchen in Venezuela, making soap and beauty products by hand, where the best things had very few ingredients. Our Detox Gel follows that rule: aloe, shea and tea tree, a gel that sits between toner and moisturizer and makes everything after it go on better.

Marianella makes it by hand in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in small batches, and her son David designed the jar it lives in. No harsh chemicals, no animal testing, and as little waste as we can manage. It is the quiet step in a routine, and the one people notice when it is missing.
