To use the Royal Kalahari Under Eye and Lip Serum Roller Oil, roll the steel ball once under each eye, from the inner corner out toward the temple, then once along your top lip and once along your bottom lip. Pat the oil in with your ring finger and give it a moment to settle. Use it morning and night, after your face serum and before moisturizer, sunscreen or makeup.
That is the whole routine, and it takes less than a minute. The rest of this guide is about doing each part well: the direction you roll, how much oil is enough, and where the roller sits among everything else on your shelf.
Before you start
Begin with a clean face. If you use a face serum, press it in first and let it absorb. The roller is meant to follow the serum as a second, more targeted pass over the two places where skin is thinnest and dries first: under the eyes and on the lips.
Our Royal Kalahari Face Serum is its natural partner. The roller is built from the same family of oils, so the two feel like one step: serum over the whole face, then a light pass of the roller where you want a little more.
Step by step: eyes first, then lips
- Uncap and turn the bottle ball side down. Hold it lightly, the way you would hold a pen. The ball should touch the skin, not press into it.
- Roll under one eye. Set the ball at the inner corner, just above the bone, and roll outward toward the temple in one smooth pass. The oil goes on as a thin, even line. Let the ball do the work; the cool steel massages as it moves.
- Repeat on the other side. One pass per eye is enough.
- Roll the lips. One pass along the top lip, then one along the bottom, following the curve of the mouth. Press your lips together once, as you would after a balm.
- Pat it in. Use your ring finger, which applies the least pressure of any finger, and tap the oil in with a few light touches under each eye. Do not rub or drag. The skin there is thin and moves easily.
- Pause. Give it a few seconds, up to a minute, to settle before the next step.
Roll, roll, pat, pause. Once it is a habit you will not think about it.
Where it goes in your routine
In the morning
Cleanse, press in your face serum, then use the roller. Follow with moisturizer if you wear one, and finish with sunscreen. The oil sinks in quickly, so once it has had a moment to settle, concealer and foundation go on smoothly over it.
At night
Cleanse, serum, roller. If you finish with a richer cream, such as our Wrinkle Reducing Ultra Peptide Intensive Night Cream, the cream goes on last, over the top, so the lighter oil sits closest to the skin. On a simpler night, the roller can be your final step on bare skin before bed.
Through the day
The lip side earns extra use. The bottle is small enough for a coat pocket, a bag or a desk drawer, so you can give your lips a pass whenever they feel dry. No mirror is needed for that part.
How much is enough
One pass per area is the intended amount. The roller ball meters the oil for you, which is the point of the format: no dropper, no fingers dipping into a jar, no guessing. Extra passes do not help it sink in faster. They leave more oil sitting on the surface, where it can slide into concealer or end up on your pillow.
If the area still looks shiny after a minute, use a lighter touch next time. Used morning and night, the skin under your eyes looks brighter, smoother and softly hydrated, with fine lines that look less pronounced, and your lips are left with a soft, nourished gloss.
The oils inside, briefly
Kalahari melon seed oil leads the formula, joined by baobab, mongongo, passion fruit, camellia, grapeseed and tamanu oils. Castor oil adds a soft, glossy cushion and monoi de Tahiti a faint floral warmth. Vitamin E keeps the oils fresh, and a vitamin C complex adds brightness. It suits normal, dry, mature and sensitive skin, and it comes in a 10 ml amber glass bottle with a gold cap.
Questions about using the roller
How many passes should I use under each eye?
One. Roll from the inner corner out toward the temple once on each side, then pat it in with your ring finger. Extra passes only leave more oil on the surface.
Does it go on before or after moisturizer?
Before. Apply your face serum, then the roller, then moisturizer and, in the daytime, sunscreen. At night a richer cream goes on last, over the roller.
How long should I wait before putting on concealer?
Pat the oil in, then give it a few seconds to a minute. That is enough time for it to settle, so concealer goes on smoothly instead of sliding.
How often should I use it?
Morning and night under the eyes. The lip side can be used as often as your lips feel dry through the day.
